The Altffour app
The app keeps on your device only what it needs to work: the server address, your Jellyfin sign-in and a device ID, your settings and theme, cached pages and artwork, and anything you download. None of it is used for ads or tracking, and none of it is sent to us. The Privacy Policy says more about each one.
YouTube trailers: asked first
Trailers play in YouTube's player, in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When the player loads, YouTube receives your IP address and browser details and may store data on your device for that player, under Google's privacy policy.
So the app loads nothing from YouTube until you agree. The first time you open a trailer it asks: “Trailers play through YouTube, which may store data on this device.”
Play trailers plays it, and the app remembers your answer on that device. Not now goes back and loads nothing; the next trailer asks again. Until you agree, previews on a title card show its artwork only, and the trailers on a title's page show the title's own artwork instead of YouTube's pictures. To take back your yes, clear the app's data (in a browser, the site data for the app's address).
